Today and So Far

I got gently checked by my biggest supporter—and he was right.

Today, I was asking someone about their discipline when it came to exercise. I was curious, listening, asking questions.
Afterward, my husband said,
“You’re a coach. You should’ve been telling him that—not asking.”
Now listen—he’s my biggest fan, so I take feedback like that in love.
But it made me pause.
With all the pressure that comes with titles, social media, and the expectations tied to the roles we play, it’s easy to forget something important:
We still have to be honest with ourselves.
Not the version people see online.
Not the version tied to our credentials.
The current version.
Truth is, I’m still very disciplined when it comes to getting up early, reading my books, and checking off my daily boxes. But somewhere between COVID… and turning 50… I lost some discipline around eating well and exercising consistently.
For most of my life, weight was never an issue. I drank ACV daily. I lived on green smoothies. I didn’t struggle.
And then… life happened.
So today, I didn’t try to fix everything.
I had a healthy, high-protein, low-carb breakfast.
I took my vitamins.
I drank a good amount of water.
I got a few early steps in.
Yesterday wasn’t perfect.
I don’t know about tomorrow.
But today showed up.
Discipline isn’t about being perfect forever.
It’s about honoring who you are today—without shame.
Reflection creates recalibration.
Recalibration creates momentum.
And momentum—built honestly—is what compounds.
In goals, business, health, and life, we don’t grow by performing for the title—we grow by responding to reality. Sometimes the win isn’t consistency for a year.
Sometimes the win is discipline for today.
And tomorrow?
Tomorrow can handle itself.
This season isn’t about doing everything right.
It’s about doing today well.
Inside Goal Skool, we build habits, routines, and goals in real life—one honest day at a time.
